Goodbye Grief

Grief is the price we pay for love.
Queen Elizabeth ll

It only hurts because you love it. The feelings might subside but will it ever release you completely? Have you heard the sound of a wailing child who has lost his favourite toy in the shopping mall? Or seen the quiet tears of an athlete who didn't reach their finishing goal.

We invest. We give our most precious commodity, our time, to help make each minute we pass a grounding on this earth. This is mine, we want to yell. Don't take it away!

The teddy bear was his, yes HIS, and how dare it happen that it fell from his grasp. In that sad moment, this child feels that he will never love something quite that much again. And as he grows, he finds out that each thing we love, will eventually leave us or we will leave it behind. How sad and how beautiful.

We must always remember that we are just on loan to each other.

Relish the dreams of continuity, dream that the best possible today, will last forever. Because it can if we allow it, although eventually we might have to say Goodbye.

And just as Amelia Curran sings below, we Never Say Goodbye.
