I have recently finished reading David Cork’s The Pig and
the Python and When the Pig goes to Market which had been sitting on my
bookshelf for way too long. Although these books are somewhat dated (1999ish),
they are still well worth the read. Packed full of wisdom and tidbits
highlighting the effect of (our) Baby Boomer generation, you will be sure to
get some entertainment and glean some hard facts from it.
In hindsight you will
be able to appreciate how many of the “insights” have come to fruition and you
can chuckle at statements such as “women account for nearly 50 percent of "connected" people (they use technology at least 3 days a week and use three of the following regularly: a laptop, a cell phone, a beeper [remember those?] and a home computer)”. How far we women have come!
A relatively easy read for anyone
interested in expanding their knowledge on how their finances and investments have been influenced by the Boomers.
I will be following up this reading with Tony Robbins new
book MONEY Master the Game: 7 Simple Steps to Financial Freedom which is on my
Christmas Wish List.
