Pebble in Your Pocket

We plan and investigate, we resort to paper maps and brochures, we pack sandwiches and ponder how long our ice pack will remain frozen. And with the snap of our fingers, our holidays are over.

From PEI to the Wall of China, from Naramata to White Fish, Montana. Hearing about friends' travels over the summer, all had one thing in common, the love of new things. The value of learning, the history of a quaint town, tasting the local food (including crickets), the warmth of the breeze, the red colour of the earth. This is what holiday memories are made of.

As the busy days of our Fall unfold, when we are buried in paperwork or blankets of snow lay at our feet, let us always remember our carefree summer days. When we had the chance to unwind and truly be ourselves and hopefully, if we are careful we can carry the emotion of freedom and contentment into the coming months.

When you feel yourself getting scattered as chores and endless lists start to preoccupy your thinking, reach back to your summer memories, and carry that pebble of happiness in your pocket and remember.....

Hold onto your summer memories, and carry that pebble of happiness in your pocket. (Click to Tweet)
